Winter Break Move-Out and Move Back Info: 

Winter Break Closing

  • All campus residences will close at noon on December 18, 2014 except Eastern Shore, Hampton Roads, Jackson, Liberty Square, Mason Global Center, Northern Neck, Potomac Heights, Rogers, Roosevelt, Student Apartments, Townhouses, Whitetop, and Wilson.  Residents should plan to leave campus 24 hours after your last final or by noon on December 18, 2014, whichever comes first.  There is no extended stay available for the fall semester. Residents planning to stay at any time over the break in an open building must complete the Winter Break Stay Request Form.
  • All campus residences will reopen at 10 am on January 16, 2015. Please plan your travel accordingly as you will not be able to enter your hall prior to 10 am on January 16, 2015. There is not early arrival available for the spring semester.

Students returning to the same space for the spring semester:

  • If you are returning to the same space for the spring semester, you do not need to remove your belongings from your room, return your key, or check-out at your neighborhood desk.
  • We encourage you to take your valuables home with you.
  • Please review this CLOSING CHECKLIST to ensure you complete all the proper steps before leaving your room/suite for winter break.
  • Residents of Hampton Roads, Jackson, Liberty Square, Northern Neck, Potomac Heights, Rogers, Roosevelt, Student Apartments, Townhouses, Whitetop, and Wilson may request to have access to their assignments over winter break. No access will be granted for any other campus residence.

Students not returning to campus housing for the spring semester:

  • If you are not returning to campus housing, you must be fully moved out of your room and checked-out at your neighborhood desk no later than noon on December 18, 2014.
